Greg Mitchell, who wrote the forward to Choosing Life, has released the long-awaited documentary film about the U.S. Government suppression of the vivid records made in the atom-bombed cities.   My father’s film crew shot the only color film of the aftermath, but Japanese filmmakers recorded black and white footage even earlier.  The U.S. military not only classified its own footage as top secret but seized and suppressed all the Japanese footage it could.  This documentary introduces Americans to the raw realities hidden from them for so long, and the narration draws from the words of the eyewitnesses and filmmakers themselves.  This showing also includes a half-hour interview I recorded with Greg and the producer of the documentary.  The documentary will be airing online at the Cinequest Film Festival from March 20-30.  Tickets are available here.
