This is the author with Numata-sensei, the hibakusha (bomb survivor) whose atomic bomb experience story opens the book. Here, she is showing me the photograph of my father that she uses in telling schoolchildren about her memories of him filming her.
This picture of Numata-sensei was taken on the rooftop of a Hiroshima hospital in 1946 by my father’s crew.
